When Base Jumping Goes Horribly Wrong – Pray For Snow. Lots and Lots of Snow.

A young, base jumper prepares to throw himself from the top of a 120-metre power pylon in Konakova, Russia.

You can tell by the shaking hands and hesitation he’s an inexperienced base jumper, which may have had something to do with the parachute not being packed correctly and, subsequently, not opening. Or it was just bad luck.

Smartest thing he did was jump over snow — saved his life. Albeit it came with three months of rehab from fracturing his vertebrae, pelvis, and legs.

Kids — don’t try this at home! Skydiving and base jumping are dangerous sports. If you want to learn how to skydive or base jump, learn from a professional instructor and only jump with a professional.

Maybe it’s just me but this base jumping video reminded me of a live-action Wile E. Coyote cartoon.
